North East Herts MP, Sir Oliver Heald, welcomes the new survey being undertaken by Royston Community Health, the Community Interest Company pressing for an improved NHS health care hub and beds at the Royston Hospital site to be co-located with social care provision.
Sir Oliver has supported efforts to obtain NHS and County Council approval, working closely with all local bodies, including County Councillors Fiona Hill and Tony Hunter, and other levels of local government. Oliver recently met Maureen Donnelly, Chair of the Cambridge and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group and pressed for approval of the scheme to go to the next level – the preparation of a business case. The Board of the CCG has recently agreed this.
Commenting, Sir Oliver said, “I encourage local people to continue to work with Royston Community Health and complete their survey. They have played an important part in making progress, working well with the NHS and other stakeholders to obtain new facilities and I am glad that the Cambridge and Peterborough CCG Board has agreed to go to the next stage of approval with a business case being prepared.”
Royston Community Health is a not for profit social enterprise run by local people for local people. The survey is on their website and twitter: http://roystoncommunityhealth.org.uk/ @RoystonCH
