Oliver Heald MP for North East Hertfordshire has welcomed a fall in the number of unemployed people in his constituency. The number of unemployed JSA claimants in North East Hertfordshire in March 2014 was 982.This represents a rate of 2.0% of the economically active population aged 16 to 64, the 505th highest of the 650 UK constituencies. (1st = highest rate of unemployment, 650th = lowest rate of unemployment.)
Commenting Heald said “this fall in the number of JSA claimants within the constituency is very encouraging. I understand that the number of claimants is 476 lower than in March 2013 and 49 lower than in February 2014 which shows improvement not only month on month, but also year on year. With the news this week of a reduced inflation rate in the UK, clearly the economy is improving and this is reflected in the reduction of those looking for work within the constituency.”
