Sir Oliver Heald MP attended the Little Hadham Bypass exhibition at the Village Hall on Saturday, along with Councillors David Andrews and Graham McAndrew (all three in photograph). Also present at the exhibition were County Council highways experts and Mr Richard Boutel of the project team.
The hall was packed with local residents interested in the scheme and the associated flood defence scheme. The road will be funded by the County Council, Herts LEP and the Government and will cost more than £25 million. Some residents had ideas to improve the route and others were able to make inquiries about how the scheme will affect them. The Council’s public consultation is open until 3rd of December, and can be found at https://consult.hertsdirect.org/a120consult/
Commenting, Sir Oliver said, “This was an excellent exhibition which provided all the information one could want, provided by a film and all the highways experts who were there. Residents were able to suggest changes to the project and ask questions about it, and I had the chance to hear a range of these views and inquiries. Overall there was relief that the dangerous bottleneck at the Little Hadham lights was finally to be sorted out. I urge all constituents affected to take part in the consultation.”
