Sir Oliver Heald MP is responding to the Herts County Council consultation “Inspiring Libraries” saying that Royston should be a Tier1 Library and not a Tier 2 as suggested. Tier 1 libraries have a wider range of stock and will be open for the longest hours.
Royston Library is used by many people from the villages as well as the town and is at the centre of a fast-expanding area. The Library has been refurbished recently to a high standard including new electronic lending equipment.

Commenting Sir Oliver Heald said “I am urging Royston and area residents to pop in to the Library or go online to take part in the consultation. The answer to Question 1 of the questionnaire is that it is unreasonable for Royston to be Tier 2 rather than Tier 1. We want the broadest range of services available for the longest possible hours.”
