Sir Oliver Heald, MP for North East Herts is encouraging constituents to take part in Herts County Council (HCC)’s Bus Consultation. The consultation which was launched last week and will close on 8 October looks at the financial support provided for the bus services within Hertfordshire, with a view to making a saving of £700k from the Council’s £3.8m bus budget.
Proposals within the consultation include:
-a withdrawal of funding to services that operate after 6.30pm
-a withdrawal of funding for services that run on a Sunday

Commenting, Sir Oliver said, I know that many of my constituents rely on using the bus and I encourage them to make their views about the consultation known by responding to it. Those constituents that do not have access to a computer could consider using computers at their local library.”
