Sir Oliver Heald MP met Jon Grant (Head of History Highfield School and Chair of Herts at War) and Dan Hill at the House of Commons as they presented to MPs as part of the Understanding World War One campaign. The meeting was organised by the Heritage Lottery Fund which has backed Herts at War following a funding bid supported by Sir Oliver.

Commenting, Sir Oliver said, “I was delighted that Herts at War were chosen to make their presentation at the House of Commons – one of only six schemes in the country. Other MPs were fascinated, particularly by the suitcase that had remained unopened since World War 1. This year is the centenary of the War’s outbreak, and it is very important that it is remembered and commemorated properly. I congratulate Jon, Dan and all at Herts at War.”
