MP for North East Hertfordshire, Sir Oliver Heald, has welcomed the Government’s announcement that a further £1 billion will be invested in Growth Deals across the country. Locally, the extra funding will, amongst other projects, provide investment for a Design and Innovation Centre at North Herts College in Stevenage; a vital tool in keeping Hertfordshire at the cutting-edge of high-skilled industry. Hertfordshire will receive an extra £22.3 million over the next six years, in addition to the £200 million committed by the Government last year.
Commenting, Sir Oliver said, “Hertfordshire is one of the powerhouses of the national economy, and this money will help train young people, create jobs and strengthen design and innovation, through the new Design and Innovation Centre at North Herts College. This will make the Hertfordshire economy stronger and even more secure.”
