NE Herts MP Sir Oliver Heald attended the press conference today to unveil Meridian School’s latest OFSTED Report, which gave the school a “Good” rating in all categories and inspectors remarked on how well the school was improving.
Singled out for particular praise was the Sixth Form, where the number of students staying on is at the highest level ever. The students’ aspiration and achievement were impressive and backed up by good results.
Sir Oliver regularly visits the school and recently attended a candidates’ hustings there.
Commenting Sir Oliver said:
“I was delighted to attend the press conference and to support the team at Meridian, who are doing so well. It is good news for Royston that the Meridian is performing strongly and I congratulate all involved with the school, including the Head, Mike Firth, all the staff, governors, students and their families. It is good to see Meridian on the march.”
