North East Herts MP, Sir Oliver Heald, visited the new East of England Ambulance Service hub in Babbage Road, Stevenage on Friday to see their latest equipment and congratulate them on their improved performance.
Oliver was shown round by Principal Locality Manager, Steve Davey, Senior Paramedic, and had the chance to meet staff, managers and paramedics. He also saw the new Emergency Intervention Vehicle, which enables the Ambulance Service to stabilise and treat people in their own home.
Oliver was also able to see some of the new high-tech ambulances now in use with the service.
Commenting, Sir Oover said, “The East of England Ambulance Service is benefitting from substantial investment and is increasing its performance fast. Hubs such as Stevenage are playing a key role. We are fortunate that the Lister Hospital is very efficient at taking in patients and together with the Ambulance Service is continuing to find ways to improve the service to patients. I congratulate all the staff involved.”
