Sir Oliver Heald attended the Save the Children Fund event at Parliament and met constituent Dr Jane Kirk who is a member of the Hertfordshire Save the Children. Sir Oliver was told about the important work of Save the Children and the improvements in development being funded by British aid including the education of women and girls in the Third World, clean water and work to re-establish countries after conflict.
Commenting, Sir Oliver said “It was good to meet Dr Kirk and to hear about the work which Save the Children are doing to eradicate poverty and the important contribution being made by British aid. Dr Kirk certainly spelt it out to me and I shared her enthusiasm for helping those in developing countries.”
Sir Oliver is a lifelong supporter of Save the Children Fund.
