North East Herts MP, Sir Oliver Heald, was Guest of Honour at the annual Lights of Love Service in Buntingford on Friday, organised by the Isabel Hospice. Oliver gave a Reading and then switched on the lights, after an enthusiastic crowd countdown. He joined in the late-night shopping in the High Street and enjoyed a hot dog.
Commenting, Sir Oliver said, “This Service is always very moving as people remember their loved ones and marks the start of the Christmas season in Buntingford. It is also a significant fund raiser for the Isabel Hospice Charity, which helps so many families facing the loss of a relative or friend.
This was one of the best attended Lights of Love and the crowd enjoyed carols sung by Edwinstree School Choir and the Mustard Seeds Choir. The late night shopping showed off the historical High Street at its best. I congratulate everyone involved in organising the evening.”
