North Herts MP Oliver Heald attended a Coffee Morning at the Letchworth Hall Hotel last week to celebrate Carers’ Week. Oliver met carers and those they care for. The meeting heard from Sheelagh Taylor, Chief Executive of Crossroads Care and Sarah parks, who cares for her husband Jono, who suffers with MS.
Commenting Oliver said, “It is always a privilege to meet carers who give their time and energy without complaint to look after family members in need. I am pleased that David Cameron has pledged his support for this group through the Carers Strategy’ and I was able to explain the importance that the Coalition Government gives to its work in this area of policy.”
Commenting Sheelagh Taylor said, “Unpaid family Carers were delighted to have the support of Oliver Heald MP at their Coffee Morning for Carers recently. He continues to support local carers who have an often unrecognised but massively important role in looking after someone who is ill, frail or disabled. We at Crossroads Care offer practical and emotional support to help carers in their caring role and having Oliver’s backing at a local and national level is just wonderful”.
