The Bill was introduced as a Private Member’s Bill by Dr Liam Fox MP but has now secured Government support and will become law. The Bill will improve provision and outcomes for all those living with Down syndrome in England. This will encompass, amongst other areas, education, health, social care and employment.
Commenting Sir Oliver Heald said:
“ I am pleased to support the Down Syndrome Bill so that we can improve access to health, education and social care services for those with Down syndrome. I know that this will be welcomed by families in my constituency.”
