North East Herts MP Oliver Heald was delighted to receive a Special Recognition Award from the Chief Constable Charlie Hall to recognise his work in taking the Animal Welfare (Service Animals) Act 2019 through Parliament. He received the Award at County Police Headquarters in Welwyn Garden City.
Commenting, Oliver Heald said, “I was delighted to be able to take this important Bill through Parliament and that it has already been used on a number of occasions to prosecute offenders who attacked police dogs. I was very touched to be given this Award and was happy to be able to help my constituent, P C Dave Wardell, in his campaign for proper recognition of service animals who are valued public servants.”
