Herts Police and Crime Commissioner, David Lloyd, has taken an important step in combatting the fly-tipping blight on local businesses and farmers with his announcement on1 September that they can now apply to have illegally dumped rubbish removed for free. The Fly Tipping on Private Land Fund which he runs can pay the cost of having the waste removed and anyone interested in making a claim should contact their district or borough council Environmental Team referencing the PCC’s private land fly tipping pilot. Contact details are on the PCC website at https://www.hertscommissioner.org/fly-tipping.
Commenting, Sir Oliver said: ‘This is a game changing initiative for rural areas in my constituency that for too long have borne the brunt of this pernicious crime and I welcome it whole heartedly’.
