MP for North East Hertfordshire, Sir Oliver Heald, is welcoming Sport England’s decision to invest £250,000 of National Lottery funding in Get Active North Herts. This investment is part of Sport England’s latest round of awards made through its Community Sport Activation Fund which invests in local projects to get local people more active.
Get Active North Herts will get more local people playing sport, offering activities for young people and families in particular. The project will provide activity sessions including 'buggy bootcamp' for new parents, fitness classes tailored to families, and inclusive sports for disabled people.
Including this latest award, Sport England has invested £439,297 in North East Hertfordshire over the last five years.
Commenting, Sir Oliver said, “I am delighted to hear of this funding for sport in North East Hertfordshire. This investment by Sport England is a real boost for Get Active North Herts and for people in the constituency. Thanks to this funding, even more local people can get involved in playing sport and being active.”
