New constituency claimant count figures for North East Hertfordshire, collected in October and published this month, indicate that the total number of unemployed claimants in the constituency now stands at 525.
This represents a rate of 1.0% of the economically active population aged 16-64, compared to the equivalent UK claimant rate of 2.9%. Taking account of people moving jobs, this amounts to full employment.
The number of claimants in North East Hertfordshire constituency is 95 lower than October 2017 and 20 lower than September 2018. Additionally, there were 100 claimants aged 18-24 in October 2018, 10 lower than October 2017.
Commenting Sir Oliver Heald MP said: “It is good that so many local people are in work and that there is so little unemployment. I will continue to keep constituents abreast of developments.”
