MP announces decision to stand down

North East Herts MP Sir Oliver Heald has announced that he will not be standing as a candidate at the next general election. Sir Oliver has written to the Chairman of North East Herts Conservative Association, Lynda Needham, and notified the Prime Minister to explain his decision.

North East Herts MP Sir Oliver Heald was delighted when his Bill was accepted today by ministers, who agreed to do all the things he had asked for in his Bill, Children in Hospital for Extended Periods (Report to Parliament).

Happy New Year

I would like to wish all constituents a Happy New Year and a better year than 2023.In 2024 I expect to see our economy strengthen, inflation come down more, wages outstrip inflation, NHS lists fall and even stronger enforcement on the criminal gangs smuggling people here.

Sir Oliver at Baldock Remembrance

North East Herts MP Sir Oliver Heald and Deputy Lord Lieutenant Emma Robarts led the wreath laying at Baldock on Sunday. The service was conducted by Minister Chris Jenkins of Christchurch Baldock with the Rector Revd Philippa Maddox attending.
