MP for North East Hertfordshire, Sir Oliver Heald, has praised East Herts District Council for winning a gold Stray Dog Footprint in the RSPCA’s 2016 Community Animal Welfare Footprint Awards.
This award scheme recognises organisations that go above and beyond basic requirements to ensure higher welfare standards for animals in the services they provide.
Commenting, Sir Oliver said, “I am delighted to see that East Herts Council has won this recognition, and for it to be at gold level is particularly impressive. I congratulate all those at the Council who ensure that Hertfordshire treats its animals well.”
