Howard Park and Norton Common have been nominated in the Fields in Trust UK’s Best Park 2019 award. Fields in Trust, formerly the National Playing Fields Association, are an independent charity which supports parks and green spaces by protecting them for people to enjoy in perpetuity.
The UK’s Best Park award gives the public the opportunity to vote for their favourite local green space and Sir Oliver would urge constituents to vote via http://www.fieldsintrust.org/best-park Voting will run until noon on Monday 19 August.
Commenting, Sir Oliver said “I am delighted that these two great open spaces have been shortlisted and hope local residents will get behind them and vote. They are loved and merit the title.”
