On Saturday North East Hertfordshire MP, Oliver Heald, opened Royston Children Centre’s Family Fun Day in Priory Memorial Gardens, visited Rushden Fete, judged the floats at Buntingford Carnival and ended the day with Therfield Fete.
Commenting on the events, Oliver said: “These were all excellent events for the family, held in lovely sunny weather. Royston Children’s Centre put on a great show with bouncy castles, face painting and other stalls; Rushden Fete involved all the village, with plants and cakes for sale and games. Judging the floats at Buntingford Carnival is always difficult and the competition was intense but found some worthy winners. I know that the other judges found it all as hard as I did. The Fete was based round the Church with Canon Richard Morgan having wet sponges thrown at him in the stocks. There was an opportunity for tea in the Church and many splendid stalls. This was a real day to remember in North East Herts.”
