North Hertfordshire MP, Oliver Heald, has congratulated Signe Sutherland, Principal of North Hertfordshire College on securing £2 million of capital funding from the Skills Funding Agency. This funding is part of the increased £550 million capital funding pot announced by the Chancellor, George Osborne, last December. North Hertfordshire College will be able to secure £4 million of private funding on the basis of the public grant allowing it to put £6 million towards improving its facilities.
Commenting, Oliver Heald said:
‘This £2 million grant shows the esteem in which North Hertfordshire College is held by the Government. It will allow the College to modernise and update its facilities and it is a significant investment in the education of young people in North Hertfordshire.’
