North East Herts MP Oliver Heald gave oral evidence to the Benington Wind Farm Inquiry this week.
Although Oliver is in favour of renewable energy, he feels the site proposed is unsuitable, as it is in an unspoilt area of small hills and copses, in the Lower Beane Valley. The site does not have any pylons and is generally regarded as being one of the most picturesque parts of the County.
Commenting, Oliver Heald said, “We all need to do our bit to tackle global warming and I am a strong supporter of energy efficiency measures and renewable energy. However, I do not support this site and have made my views known to the Inspector dealing with the Planning Inquiry.”
