North East Herts MP Oliver Heald was Guest of Honour at Letchworth Sports and Tennis Club Open Day on Monday.
He had the chance to see all the courts in action and to talk to members of the Tennis and Croquet Clubs. Oliver then joined in the celebration of the new 150 year lease granted by the Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation and to join LGCHF Chairman Colin Chatfield and Club Chairman John Farthing in pulling the draw and cutting the cake.
Commenting, Oliver Heald said, “This is a marvellous facility for Letchworth, which is setting the pace in modern day tennis. Many juniors are going on to represent their County and fight for English honours. It was also good to know that the Lawn Tennis Association child training video features Letchworth Club.
“I enjoyed being involved in cutting the cake and drawing the prizes. I congratulate everyone involved in the Open Day.”
