North East Herts MP Oliver Heald presented the “Oliver Heald Trophy” to the Winners of yesterday’s Inaugural 7s Cricket Tournament on Royston Heath. The Tournament was organised by Royston Town Cricket Club, who have brought cricket back to Therfield Heath.
Eight teams from a wide area entered, with a thrilling final between Babraham and Thriplow. Babraham emerged victorious, thanks in part to the magnificent bowling of the only lady competitor.
Commenting, Oliver Heald said, “I was honoured to present the Trophy in my name to the first Winning Team. The Tournament was superbly organised by Dominic Adams and Steve Gwynne of Royston Town Cricket Club. It was a real family day of fun on the Heath and it was great to see cricket being enjoyed by a large crowd in excellent weather.”
