North East Herts MP Oliver Heald met NHS representatives, together with County Councillors, this morning to discuss Royston Hospital. Oliver demanded that Royston patients with intermediate care needs should be treated in Royston, as promised during the recent consultation.
The MP also asked for full details of future plans for the medium and long term care needs of Royston.
Oliver also pressed for information on where Royston Community Transport was to be based in future and to know how much was to be invested in Royston for its future healthcare and care needs.
Commenting, Oliver Heald said, “We put our concerns to the NHS representatives and I am waiting for full answers. Our County Councillors were also able to raise their concerns. Clearly, it is important that the plans should meet not just immediate needs, but also the future needs of an expanding town. I shall be reporting back to the Action Group tomorrow.”
