NorthEast Herts MP Oliver Heald was pleased to learn that Hertfordshire Highwaysintend to undertake a major project of anti-flooding measures in the Burns Roadarea. The measures include much largercontainment tanks and channels to stem flooding in the area.
AdrianRedrup, Project Manager at Hertfordshire Highways, has written to Oliver withfull details of the scheme, which is going ahead this summer.
Commenting,Oliver Heald said, “Having met victims of the flash flooding in the Burns Road area, Iknow the misery this has caused. I waspleased to learn from Mr Redrup that a major scheme is underway. Taken together with the Fats, Oils and Greases initiative by Anglian Water and theirincreased monitoring of the pipes, these measures should go a long way towardsbringing much-needed reassurance to residents.”
