North East Herts MP Oliver Heald has welcomed the announcement by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) that it intends to inspect all Out of Hours GP services in England by the end of June 2014. The inspectors will be looking at how well the services respond to patients’ needs and will be considering the quality of communication between out of hours care and other local services, including GP services, care homes and emergency services. The inspection for the out of hours service for Hertfordshire is scheduled for March 2014.
Commenting Oliver Heald said “It is important that patients should have full confidence in Out of Hours services. CQC inspections are able to highlight areas where improvements are needed and ensure that changes are made. The CQC are keen to hear from those who have experience of the Out of Hours service in Hertfordshire and they can register their views in a number of ways :
