Oliver Heald, MP for North East Hertfordshire, has welcomed the Office of National Statistics’ latest figures confirming that the number of unemployed in his Constituency is continuing to fall. The number of claimants in May 2014 was 918, which is403 lower than in May 2013 and 35 lower than in April 2014. This represents a rate of 1.9% of the economically active population aged 16 to 64, the 489th highest of the 650 UK constituencies.
Commenting Oliver Heald said, “This proves that what we are experiencing is a real and consolidated fall in the overall number of unemployed in North East Hertfordshire.”
