North East Herts MP Oliver Heald has welcomed the news that constituents aged 16-24 can take advantage of funding from the Starbucks Youth Action programme. The funding is intended to assist young people who wish to improve their local communities by running social action projects. Grants are available for up to £2000 per project and the eligibility criteria is that applicants are aged between 16-24 and are free to attend a training day with Starbucks and UK Youth in April 2014 if selected.
Commenting Oliver Heald said “I think this is an excellent opportunity for youngsters in my constituency to benefit from funding in order to run a social project. They will be provided with training by UK Youth about drawing up a budget and will gain expertise in project management. I understand that the closing date for applications is 9am on 17 March so I hope interested groups will think about applying as soon as possible.”
