North East Herts MP Oliver Heald is encouraging constituents to make nominations for the British Red Cross Humanitarian Citizen Awards. The award scheme which is for anyone aged 25 or under, is intended to celebrate the achievements of young people in one of four categories. These are first aid, volunteering, community action and fundraising. Nominations can be submitted online at www.redcross.org.uk/theaward and they are open until July 27. All nominees will receive a certificate celebrating their nomination and to mark the tenth anniversary of the awards, this year’s awards ceremony will be held in the Churchill Room in the House of Commons in November.
Commenting Oliver Heald said “these awards are invaluable in recognising the good work of those youngsters across the country who have really made a difference. I encourage my constituents to get nominating and I wish nominees the best of luck.”
