North East Herts MP Oliver Heald has welcomed the announcement that the Government will fund 75,000 more adult apprenticeships each year for the next 4 years. Ministers have set the National Apprentice Service the task of finding employers willing to offer these new places. The NAS is will assist employers through the recruitment process and there is Government funding in place to help pay for training costs.
Commenting Oliver Heald said: “Apprenticeships are an extremely useful way to learn on the job, with the added bonus of being paid at the same time. Equally they allow employers to have staff trained with the skills they need, whilst benefiting from government funding to help pay for training costs. I hope that local employers will think about taking on an adult apprentice.”
