Barley Post Office, which has opened as one of their new-style local Post Offices, had an official opening ceremony on Friday 15 November.
To celebrate the major refurbishment Subpostmaster David Bray was joined by Oliver Heald QC MP for North East Hertfordshire, who cut the ribbon.
Mr Heald said: “I am delighted to be opening this refurbished post office, which is at the heart of the community. The new opening hours will be very convenient for my constituents as they will be able to visit this Post Office any day of the week. The opening hours are much longer too, which gives people far more opportunity to do their Post Office transactions.”
The new local style Post Office operates from an open plan till, located at the shop counter, enabling customers to carry out a wide range of Post Office products and services alongside retail transactions.
The new opening hours are Monday to Friday; 07.00 - 19.00; Saturday and Sunday: 07.00 – 14.00.
Post Office customers will benefit from opening hours being extended by 32 hours a week. The extra hours include an end to half-day opening on Wednesday and Saturday, opening on Sunday. The branch will open earlier and close later every day.
