Oliver Heald MP for North East Hertfordshire is supporting the launch this week of the Government’s online guide “How to Rent: The Checklist for renting in England.” This guide is intended to assist tenants who are looking to rent a property and provides a checklist of items to be aware of when entering into a rental agreement. It also sets out the responsibilities of both tenants and landlords and it can be found by visiting: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/how-to-rent
Commenting Oliver Heald said “it is important that tenants are aware of their rights and responsibilities when entering into a rental agreement and this guide is one of a number of initiatives which the government is pursuing to ensure that tenants have greater protection. Other plans include the development of a code of practice for the management of residential property and the requirement for all letting agents to publish a full tariff of their fees on their websites and in their offices. I hope my constituents will be able to benefit from this advice.”
