North East Hertfordshire MP Oliver Heald has welcomed the Department of Transport announcement of additional funding for the repair of roads in Hertfordshire. Over £3.5 million has been allocated to Hertfordshire from April. In addition, Chancellor George Osborne announced in the Budget on Wednesday a further £168 million for road repairs, for which local authorities can submit bids.
Commenting Oliver Heald said “the £3.5 million from April will be welcomed by my constituents. I know that Hertfordshire County Council will be working up a strong bid for further funding from the additional £168 million the Government is setting aside for road repairs.”
