Sir Oliver Heald, MP for North East Hertfordshire, has welcomed the Office of National Statistics’ latest figures confirming that the number of unemployed in his Constituency is continuing to fall.
The number of claimants in July 2014 was 840, which is372 lower than in July 2013 and 6 lower than in June 2014. This
represents a rate of 1.7% of the economically active population aged 16 to 64, the 477th highest of the 650 UK constituencies.
Commenting Sir Oliver said, "This proves that what we are experiencing is a real and consolidated fall in the overall number of unemployed in North East Hertfordshire."
