Sir Oliver Heald, MP for North East Hertfordshire, has welcomed the further fall in the unemployment figures for the constituency. In September, the number of Jobseeker's Allowance claimants in North East Hertfordshire was 766. This represents a rate of 1.6% of the economically active population aged 16 to 64, the 476th highest of the 650 UK constituencies. The number of claimants is 412 lower than in September 2013 and 38 lower than in August 2014.
Sir Oliver commented, saying, ‘I am very happy with yet another fall in the unemployment figures. It serves as a reminder that the economy is on the road to recovery, and I congratulate local businesses on their success.’
