In Wednesday’s House of Commons debate on Accident and Emergency Services, the MP for North East Hertfordshire, Sir Oliver Heald, took the opportunity to praise the staff of the Lister Hospital.
He said that during the election campaign, a number of constituents had told him “how excellent the services were in A&E.” Sir Oliver also noted that the Lister has recently had a £150 million upgrade to its facilities, including a new A&E.
Commenting, Sir Oliver said, “I am glad to have had the chance to pay tribute to the excellent staff at the Lister Hospital. A few years ago, I helped secure the funding for the new A&E department, and I am glad that it is making a difference to the lives of people across North East Hertfordshire.”
