North East Herts MP Oliver Heald is urging his constituents to make their views known on the East of England Regional Assembly proposals for new housing across the area. The public consultation begins on 2 September, when the East of England Regional Assembly will put forward four scenarios for the number of new homes needed in each Council area every year to 2031. Eleven consultation events are being held across the Eastern Region in September, where members of the public can hear more. Events in this area are being held on 8 September in Chicksands, Bedfordshire, 9 September in Stevenage and 10 September in Cambridge. Full details of the public consultation and how to book a place at one of the consultation events will be published on the Assembly’s website, www.eera.gov.uk at midday on 2 September. The consultation will run until 24 November.
Commenting, Oliver Heald said, “It is vital that as many residents of North East Hertfordshire as possible take the opportunity to give their views on the scale of new housing being proposed in this area by the East of England Regional Assembly.”
