North East Herts MP, Oliver Heald, has welcomed the victory of retired police dog Finn and PC Dave Wardell at Crufts in the Friends for Life category.
Sir Oliver is putting a Bill through Parliament known as ‘Finn’s Law’ to provide protection for police dogs after Finn was stabbed saving Dave Wardell’s life.
Commenting, Sir Oliver said: ‘I am delighted that Finn and PC Dave Wardell have won this prestigious award. It is fitting that it was the Friends for Life award as Finn put his life on the line to save PC Wardell. I hope that we can now move forward and also see Finn’s Law passed.’
